Database backups and restores for AI-built websites
Your databases are backed up every night. Take your own backup before a big change and restore a database yourself.

What is backed up
Every package of hosting for AI-built websites includes database backups at no extra cost. Each PostgreSQL database is backed up every night, and a week of backups is kept. Your sites' code stays in GitHub, so a site can be published again at any time.
Take your own backup
- Open your service's Backups in the dashboard.
- Under the database, select Your own backup → Take a backup. If you already have one, select Take a new backup: the new one replaces the current one.
- Wait until the backup is ready. Your sites keep working the whole time.
Take your own backup before a big change, such as updating the database's structure, so you can go back to it if needed.
Restore a database
A restore replaces the whole database with the backup's contents, so data saved after the backup is replaced. Only the database you choose is restored.
- Choose the backup to restore, a nightly one or your own, and select Restore.
- Type RESTORE to confirm and select Restore backup.
- Your sites lose their connection to the database for a moment and then reconnect. Then check that your sites' data looks right.
Undo a restore
Before every restore, a copy of the database is taken and kept for a week. You'll find it under Copies taken before a restore. If the restore wasn't the right one, restore that copy the same way.
