Confirm where DNS is managed

This changes public DNS only when the domain's active nameservers use the zone managed by cPanel. NordicHost nameservers provide this for Nordic Care services. If nameservers point to an external DNS provider, make the change in that provider's control panel.

Obtain the exact record type, name and value from the service you are connecting. Record the current values before changing an existing record.

Add the record

  1. Open Zone Editor in cPanel and choose Manage for the correct domain.
  2. Check whether a record already exists with the same name. Use Edit if you intend to change it.
  3. Choose Add Record and the correct type. A points to an IPv4 address, CNAME to another name, and TXT holds text such as verification data.
  4. Enter Name, TTL and the value supplied by the service. Check the complete name produced by the editor before saving.
  5. Save and confirm the record appears correctly in the list.

Avoid conflicts

Do not add a CNAME alongside other ordinary records at the same name. An MX target is a mail server hostname, not an IP address, and its priority is a separate value. Do not add a second separate SPF record alongside an existing one; authorized senders belong in one SPF policy.

Verify the public result

Check the name with a DNS lookup and the connected service's verification feature. Caches may retain the old value for its TTL. If the record does not update, first check the nameservers and spelling. Do not change nameservers just to add a single record.
