Add NordicHost email to Outlook
Connect the mailbox you use in Roundcube to Outlook with secure IMAP settings.
In this guide
Before you start
You need an existing mailbox, its password and the connection settings for your service. Roundcube is the browser interface to the same mailbox. IMAP synchronizes messages and folders across devices; it does not itself synchronize calendars or contacts.
Open your email or web hosting service in the NordicHost customer portal and select Login to cPanel. Open Email Accounts, find your address and select Connect Devices. Copy the incoming and outgoing hostnames from the secure settings. Do not use another customer's hostname or the complete webmail browser URL.
Add the account
- In classic Outlook, open File > Add Account, enter your address and choose manual configuration under advanced options. In new Outlook, start at Settings > Accounts > Email accounts > Add account; labels can vary by version.
- Choose IMAP when asked for the account type.
- Enter the incoming hostname, port 993 and SSL/TLS encryption.
- Enter the outgoing SMTP hostname, port 465 and SSL/TLS. If your service settings use the alternative port 587, pair it with STARTTLS.
- Use your full email address as the username and your mailbox password for both servers. Enable SMTP authentication.
- Save and allow the initial synchronization to finish.
Check the result
Send a message to another address and reply to it. Also check Roundcube to confirm the messages appear in the correct mailbox.
If receiving works but sending fails, check SMTP authentication, the password and the port/encryption combination. If a certificate does not match the hostname, recheck the name in Connect Devices. Do not bypass a certificate error or turn off encryption.
