Before you start

You need Samsung Email and a working mailbox. Find your hostnames in cPanel under Email Accounts > Connect Devices. Use the secure settings for this particular mailbox.

Configure an IMAP account

  1. Open Samsung Email. If you already have an account, open the app menu, settings and Add account.
  2. Choose the other email provider option, enter your full email address and password, and select Manual setup.
  3. Choose IMAP account. Use your full email address as the username.
  4. Enter the incoming hostname, select SSL/TLS and set port 993.
  5. Enter the SMTP hostname and use SSL/TLS / 465. Use STARTTLS / 587 only when offered by your service.
  6. Enable sign-in for outgoing mail and enter the same email address and mailbox password. Save.

Verify synchronization

Send a message to an external address and ask for a reply. Check the synchronization interval and notifications in the app's account settings. Android battery saving can delay background synchronization.

If the account cannot connect, try the same credentials in webmail. Working webmail usually narrows the problem to the app settings or network connection. Do not select an unencrypted connection to bypass an error. Menu labels can vary with the Samsung Email version and device language.
