Install WordPress with WP Toolkit
Install a new WordPress site on the correct domain and complete its initial settings.
In this guide
Confirm an empty installation target
You need cPanel hosting with WP Toolkit available and a domain added for the site. Verify DNS and working HTTPS. If a website already exists at the destination, back it up and choose a separate target for the new installation.
Install WordPress
- Open WP Toolkit in cPanel; it may also be called WordPress Management.
- Select Install and check the domain and HTTPS address.
- Check the installation path: an empty subdirectory field installs at the domain root; blog installs in a subdirectory. Do not accidentally approve overwriting an existing site.
- Enter the site title and language. Choose a current WordPress version from those offered.
- Set an administrator username, strong password and working email address. Save the credentials.
- Review database and update settings and select Install. Wait for completion.
Finish and verify
Open the website and its WordPress dashboard. Under Settings > General, check the addresses, language and time zone. Choose a suitable theme and remove unwanted sample content.
Set up backups and an update policy before launch. If installation fails, check disk space, database limits and the installation path. Missing WP Toolkit features may depend on the service or permissions; ask support to check. Do not install another WordPress over an existing site to fix a sign-in problem.
